ABOUT SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based trauma therapy that seeks to renegotiate and balance dysregulation in the nervous system brought about by stress physiology that has been held in the body.

Somatic Experiencing allows for the creation of greater capacity, tolerance and flexibility in a person’s experience of life and stressors through engaging with the nervous system’s innate capabilities. By practicing regulating the nervous system with mindful awareness and creating more harmonious relationship internally, the different states of a person’s experience can become more integrated with with one another and traumatic, stuck or looping pieces of experience can integrate more wholly with a person’s life experience and capabilities. â€‹
